Chapter 3 · Indexing of Datapoint lists (for BMS)

Extraction

After you have uploaded the EDE file or datapoint list and clicked Start Classification, the first step of the indexing is the extraction. Here you guide the platform as to what information is relevant to index the datapoints.

  1. Review the suggested rules. Under Sample Input, the platform suggests where to find the information in the file. Each line is one rule: column= names a column of the file, and regex= can hold a regular expression that keeps only part of that column. When the regex is empty, the whole value of the column is used.

  2. Check the result. Under Generated Output, the platform applies the rules to a sample of rows from the file. Each row is shown as it is in the file, with the extracted values below it in brackets, one for each rule. Rows that have no value in a column show fewer values.

  3. Approve or request changes. If the extracted values are right, click Approve. If not, click Request Changes, describe under What did you expect? what the output should be, and click Submit Feedback.
