Demand Based Ventilation
Important: Demand Based Ventilation is not suitable for buildings with ceiling induction units!
Demand Based Ventilation couples the ventilation steering to the CO₂ readings from the connected climate sensors. This leads to energy savings and improved indoor climate comfort.
Demand Based Ventilation only makes use of local data, and it runs on the Link. This means that even if there is no internet, it will keep working.
You can see how Demand Based Ventilation is performing via the Insights page on the side menu.
Try it below: switch Demand Based Ventilation on and see what happens to the ventilation and the CO₂ in a building over one week.
Demand Based Ventilation can be deployed in two ways: you are either directly controlling the LBK via the Link (there is a wired connection), or you are controlling it via a BMS.
-
Select the Link. In Workflows, choose Adaptive Ventilation. Select which Link you want to deploy the algorithm to. This should be the same Link serial number to which you connected the air handling unit and to which you onboarded and connected the CO₂ sensors.

Select the LBK, or the BMS datapoint. This depends on how Demand Based Ventilation is deployed:
- Directly controlling the LBK. You will have a drop-down with all the available LBKs that can be controlled in this building. Select which one you are configuring.
- Controlling via a BMS. You will have to select which datapoint you are modifying, as well as the specs of the LBK: minimum and maximum flow intake, and minimum and maximum flow return. In case of a separate setpoint for the return, you also need to specify that.

Important: if you are controlling via a BMS, changes to the BMS might be required. You must coordinate this with your building automation (regeltechniek) party.

Select the datapoints. You first have to select based on which datapoints you want to steer the ventilation. For this, select the relevant CO₂ measurements. You can use the name of the rooms which you used during onboarding, or just type CO2. In case of more than one LBK, make sure you are selecting the right datapoints.

Set the CO₂ setpoint and the ventilation speeds. Next, set what the CO₂ setpoint should be, and the maximum allowed CO₂ in the building. Furthermore, set the minimum and maximum ventilation speeds. These should be in line with the specs of your LBK.
