Integer Technologies wins the Telecompaper Innovation Award 2026

Integer Technologies has won the Telecompaper Innovation Award 2026! The award was presented during Telecom Insights 2026, Telecompaper's annual congress in Bussum. A great recognition of our vision on smart buildings, digital innovation and the role of technology in the energy transition.

Integer Technologies wins the Telecompaper Innovation Award 2026

At Telecom Insights, experts and decision-makers from the telecom and media sector come together to discuss which technological developments will have an impact in the coming years. The 2026 edition was dedicated to technological innovation, digitalisation and new growth opportunities outside the traditional telecom sector.

From reactive to predictive

Integer was selected as one of four companies to pitch for the Telecompaper Innovation Award 2026 during the congress. In his pitch, Wouter Weekers showed why many buildings today are still controlled as if you were driving a car while only looking in the rear-view mirror.

Heating, ventilation and other building installations often only respond once a change or problem is already visible. That leads to unnecessary energy peaks, higher costs, extra pressure on the electricity grid and sometimes even a loss of comfort. Integer chooses a fundamentally different approach: not reactive control, but predictive control.

A Digital Twin that looks ahead

With Integer's plug-and-play Digital Twin technology, a digital copy of a building and its installations is built automatically. By combining physical models, AI and real-time data, the system can predict what is going to happen in a building and let the installations anticipate it. This allows buildings, among other things, to:

  • lower their energy consumption;
  • improve comfort for users;
  • reduce peak loads;
  • contribute to preventing grid congestion;
  • be optimised without lengthy engineering processes.

This combination of technology, scalability and direct applicability formed the basis of the pitch with which Integer convinced the jury.

Recognition for a new view on building technology

The fact that an audience of telecom and technology professionals chose Integer as the winner makes the award extra special. It confirms that the development of smart, predictive building technology is not only relevant to the real estate and energy sector, but is part of a broader technological transition. For Integer, the award is therefore an important confirmation of the chosen course: making complex building technology simpler, smarter and scalable.

We thank Telecompaper for the organisation and the stage. And of course many thanks to Wouter Weekers and Bart van der Hoeven, who represented Integer on this special day.

On to Barcelona

The award also comes with a great next step. As the winner of the Telecompaper Innovation Award 2026, Integer may represent the Netherlands at the NL Pavilion during MWC 2027 in Barcelona. A wonderful opportunity to bring our technology and vision to international attention. From smart buildings in the Netherlands to the international technology stage. On to the next step!
