Integer Technologies has won the Telecompaper Innovation Award 2026! The award was presented during Telecom Insights 2026, Telecompaper’s annual conference in Bussum. This is a wonderful recognition of our vision for smart buildings, digital innovation, and the role of technology in the energy transition.
At Telecom Insights, experts and decision-makers from the telecom and media sectors come together to discuss which technological developments will have an impact in the coming years. The 2026 edition focused on technological innovation, digitization, and new growth opportunities outside the traditional telecom sector.
From Reactive to Predictive
Integer was selected as one of four companies invited to pitch for the 2026 Telecompaper Innovation Award during the conference. During his pitch, Wouter Weekers demonstrated why many buildings today are still managed as if you were driving a car while looking only in the rearview mirror.
Heating, ventilation, and other building systems often only respond once a change or problem has already become apparent. This leads to unnecessary energy spikes, higher costs, additional strain on the power grid, and sometimes even a loss of comfort. Integer takes a fundamentally different approach: predictive control rather than reactive control.
A Digital Twin That Looks Ahead
Integer’s plug-and-play Digital Twin technology automatically creates a digital replica of a building and its systems. By combining physical models, AI, and real-time data, the system can predict what will happen in a building and allow the systems to anticipate these events. This enables buildings to, among other things:
- reduce energy consumption;
- improve user comfort;
- reduce peak loads;
- help prevent grid congestion;
- can be optimized without lengthy engineering processes.
This combination of technology, scalability, and immediate applicability formed the basis of the pitch with which Integer managed to convince the jury.
Recognition for a New Approach to Building Technology
The fact that an audience of telecom and technology professionals chose Integer as the winner makes the award even more special. It confirms that the development of smart, predictive building technology is not only relevant to the real estate and energy sectors, but is also part of a broader technological transition. For Integer, the award is therefore an important validation of its chosen course: making complex building technology simpler, smarter, and scalable.
We would like to thank Telecompaper for organizing the event and providing the platform. Of course, we’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to Wouter Weekers and Bart van der Hoeven, who represented Integer on this special day.
Off to Barcelona
The award also comes with an exciting next step. As the winner of the 2026 Telecompaper Innovation Award, Integer will represent the Netherlands at the NL Pavilion during MWC 2027 in Barcelona. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our technology and vision on the international stage—from smart buildings in the Netherlands to the global technology stage. On to the next step!
